To apply through our UWC national committee, you must meet the following criteria:
1. Age requirement
Applicants must be between 16 and 18 years old at the time of enrolment (as of 1 September of application year). This typically aligns with students entering the final two years of secondary education, but specific age requirements may vary by UWC school or college. To be eligible to apply for the August 2026 intake must:
e.g. For August 2026 intake, applicants must be born between September 1, 2008, and September 1, 2010, i.e., be between 16 and 18 years old on September 1, 2026.
2. Educational background
Candidates eligible to apply must:
- Be currently enrolled in 10th, 11th, or 12th grade in the science or literature track (A/C/D) in the Togolese education system, the French education system, or any other equivalent education system
- Have obtained a minimum annual class average of 14/20 throughout secondary school, from 6th grade to 9th/10th/11th grade, or an average of class averages greater than or equal to 14/20 in secondary school.
3. Residency and nationality
Candidates applying through UWC Togo must:
- Be a Togolese national or a citizen of West African States.
- Hold permanent residency in Togo for at least two years.

5. Language requirements
UWC schools and colleges primarily use English as the language of instruction. While fluency is not required at the time of application, applicants are advised to attain a basic proficiency in English and demonstrate a willingness to improve their language skills.
